We had the unique pleasure of working with Mark Buxton in the spring of 2008. We can’t say enough about what a professional agricultural farmer and food plot manager that Mark is. We thought we knew a little bit about how to grow big bucks and lots of turkeys, but I for one knew very little compared to Mark Buxton. In the short time that Mark spent on our property he made significant improvements. In addition, he laid out the plans for the future that will result in better more sustainable food plots and agricultural fields that will grow the food to compliment the natural cover and browse. From a knowledge of soil types, chemicals, farming techniques and equipment, we can only say that Mark knows his stuff. If you want advice, consulting, or want Mark to be hands on with your planting for a period of time, you can trust Mark to steer you in the right direction. No pun intended, Mark knows how to Speak The Language of food plots. Just tell him what your goals are and turn him loose! With much appreciation to Mark for going above and beyond our expectations, Will Primos Primos Hunting Calls Flora, MS As a former employee of the Quality Deer Management Association, I spent a great deal of time working with some of the best deer management minds in the country. I consider Mark Buxton to be one of the best. I was fortunate to visit and hunt one of his properties several years in a row that focused on quail hunting. The quail on this property were as abundant as anywhere in the Southeast, but just as amazing was the deer and turkey. Marks non-high fenced property was producing 160” whitetails in the South Carolina low country [an area not known for it’s record class antlers]. This is unheard of! In addition to the deer, the eastern wild turkey population was the largest I have ever seen and I have hunted in 21 states. Mark’s 20+ years of wildlife management and farming experience and his diehard work ethic make him someone I would recommend to anyone wanting to improve the quality of the wildlife populations on their property. If you want the best, call Mark Buxton. Jason Hart Hunt/Fish Sales Manager Under Armour Former wildlife biologist I employed Mark to help me in my search and evaluation in locating for purchase a diverse hunting property. I found Mark’s knowledge of wildlife habitat and game management extraordinary. Further, he has a true sense of what makes for good customer service. He returned my calls promptly and always delivered on or ahead of schedule. I am thankful to Mark for his skilled and valuable advice! If I had not involved Mark as a consultant in my search I am certain I would not only have made a bad investment, but I would be living with the disappointment of my decision. Dennis Hardiman Tampa, Florida Mark Buxton and Southeastern Wildlife Habitat Services has been a great asset to me and my 400 acre property. Mark has not only been instrumental in the improvement of the habitat and the game we pursue on my farm but the methods in which we pursue the game. He is quick to pass along little insights and secrets that took him years to perfect and understand not through reading a book but actually putting them to use and by trial and error. We practice quality deer management on my property with the goal of harvesting mature animals 4.5 years old and older. He has helped me significantly increase sightings of the older class animals and improve the herd health with his food plot and habitat enhancement advice. This past season I harvested a 199 pound eight point with an 18 and a half inch spread and really good mass and tine length. I took the deer for 4.5 years old but after having his teeth aged by a laboratory he aged at 3.5. This is way above what a three year old buck should be in our area. I truly believe that doing the things Mark advised helped me not only harvest this animal but got him to the superior size that he was. I will continue to solicit the help of Southeastern Wildlife Habitat Services and would highly recommend if you have 100 acres or 1,000 to do the same. Scott Major MAJOR clean, INC. I have had the pleasure to know Mark Buxton for over nineteen years and can recommend his services without qualification. I first met Mark when he took over as manager of a large quail hunting operation in South Carolina in 1989. I didn’t know his abilities until I witnessed how he handled a major hurricane, Hugo, only to be followed by an 11 inch snow storm and major power outage three months later. After a start like that he quickly built the hunting operation into one of the finest anywhere. Mark is as knowledgeable of the flora and fauna, wildlife habitat, deer, quail and turkeys as any biologist I have ever used or talked to. It really doesn’t matter which area of emphasis someone may have, he has a proven system to enhance the success and thereby the enjoyment. He has the experience of years of trying various approaches to determine what works best under the conditions present. I have used Mark not only for the reasons above but because I know he is always conscience of the costs involved. He will work with a budget or prepare one. He likes to be hands on when appropriate; so, he’ll run a bulldozer or tractor given a chance to keep the costs down and get the job completed on time. On the other hand he works well with people and can organize and direct with ease. Most of all I have known Mark as a Christian who respects people and the environment. For me, I don’t think there are any better qualifications. Tex Small Midway Plantation In our travels looking at land, timber and recreational properties, we meet many interesting people with a variety of talents and expertise. Recently, I met Mark Buxton, who is a very talented professional in the area of habitat management. Mark’s expertise is manipulating and enhancing wildlife habitat to promote trophy bucks, turkeys, ducks, quail and other species of game all around the country. He created one of the most successful hunting properties in the southeast. This resulted in Mark being awarded the inaugural Al Brothers Deer Manager of the Year Award from the Quality Deer Management Association. After spending half a day on one of our larger, more diverse properties we have for sale, it was clear to me that Mark’s knowledge and character made me want to develop a relationship with him.
